Welcome to my website ...

Hello everyone,

I am Sarah Emmerson, a seventeen year old girl from the Scottish Borders. I spend my time working at my parents Garden Centre, volunteering with a local stunt team, writing anything from poetry to discursive essays, thinking of stand-up comedy routines, drawing, thinking about my next meal, taking photographs, practicing archery, doing more homework than seems humany possible, and fundraising for what will probably be the biggest adventure of my life. After a week long selection course in Spring 2012, on the stunning Hebridean Island of Coll, (I now want to live there forever!) I was chosen to go overseas to Malaysia to teach children either English or Outdoors Activities with Project Trust for a whole year. So, in August this year, I will be travelling away from home, to the other side of the world on this awesome adventure.

However, I have had to raise £5,400 in order to go. This is a pretty large amount of money for a teenager such as myself, to whom ten quid seems like a huge sum! In order to raise this titanic total, I've done a variety of things, from quizzes to a sponsored head-shave that made me look like a buddhist monk. I was  bit dim with that one, as it was done in Autumn. Let's just say that I'm surprised my ears did not get severe frostbite.

Anyway, if anyone has a few spare pennies, or any fundraising ideas, I'd be delighted if you could contact me via the e-mail address I've provided.

Whilst I am in Malaysia, I shall be (attempting to) regularly update this website, and write a few blogs. Of course, this all depends on the internet connection available at my placement. Cross fingers there will be some, otherwise this website is going to be pretty silent for a year!

~Sarah :)
